The dominance of the Amapiano movement has crossed Mzansi’s borders and reached various parts of the African continent including West Africa. Nigeria especially has embraced Amapiano with all their heart, learned all about the sub-genre, and also infused elements of Afrobeats into it to satisfy their listeners.

Artists like Falz, Zinoleesky, Niniola, Phyno, and more have pushed the genre with a lot of great music released this year. The songs have also dominated the airwaves and the charts in the best ways. Now, check out our list of the top 10 most recent Amapiano songs in Nigeria.

1. Goya Menor & Nektunez – Ameno Amapiano (Remix)

If there are any songs dominating airwaves in Nigeria right now, it is the “Ameno Amapiano (Remix)”. The song “Ameno” first blew up in clubs across Nigeria, and then was remixed by Nektunez. The new remix has dominated airwaves across the country and also hit the top of the charts. It is also one of the most heard songs on social media.

2. Davido & Focalistic – Champion Sound

Earlier in the year, Davido jumped on the official remix of the Focalistic and Vigro Deep collab “Ke Star”. The song fast became one of the biggest hits of 2021. They also announced a follow-up EP later on. A few months back, they dropped their follow-up collab “Champion Sound”, and the fans have loved it since.

3. Reekado Banks – Ozumba Mbadiwe

After taking some time away from the scene, Afropop star, Reekado Banks made a comeback with the release of the Piano jam “Ozumba Mbadiwe”. The song got thumbs up from virtually everyone who heard it, and it has been a massive hit ever since. It is featured as one of the tracks and the lead single off Reeky’s “OTR Vol. 2” EP.

 

4. Lojay & Sarz – Monalisa

In June this year, Lojay embraced the limelight when he appeared on a collaborative EP with Nigerian producer, Sarz. The EP titled “LV N ATTN” houses 5 tracks with guest contributions from Afrobeats star, Wizkid. It spawned the hit song “Monalisa” which has since gained praise from the fans and topped charts across Africa and Nigeria. This is a good one.

 

5. Mayorkun & Victony – Holy Father

When Mayorkun announced that he was “Back In Office”, we all knew he was out to dominate. The former DMW star dropped his new album, and the hit song “Holy Father” quickly went to the top of the charts. The song, featuring contributions from Victony has been one of the biggest songs in the country this year. It is also the biggest song on the album.

 

6. Adekunle Gold & Davido – High

Adekunle Gold had one of his best years in the airwaves this year. Following his like “It Is What It Is”, “Sinner”, and more, he announced the stunner “High” featuring Davido. The song quickly hit the top of the charts and became one of the year’s biggest hits. It has been at number one for multiple weeks.

7. Wande Coal – Come My Way

Throughout his career, Wande Coal has shown just how versatile he is. The Nigerian star has been around for so long and continues to dominate the scene. He has also claimed the charts and the airwaves with the hit song “Come My Way”. The Zulu-influenced song has since been well received by the fans since it dropped.

8. Mohbad – Feel good

There is no doubt that Mohbad’s voice was one of the most heard on the scene this year. The Nigerian singer previously teamed up with producer, Rexxie to drop the viral hit “KPK (Ko Por Ke)”, and a remix with Sho Madjozi. He followed up with another Piano jam tagged “Feel Good”. It features production credits for Niphkeys who kills it.

9. Niphkeys and Zinoleesky – Blessings

Both Nigerian producers, Niphkeys and singer, Zinoleesky have had amazing years. The former produced the songs “Feel Good” with Mohbad, and Zinoleesky’s major hit song “Kilofeshe”. He followed up with this one “Blessings” and it also became a big hit in the country. It has also been one of the most played songs this holiday season.

10. Ch’cco & Mellow & Sleazy – Nkao Tempela

Last month, SA producer, Ch’cco and popular Piano duo, Mellow & Sleazy joined forces to release this song “Nkao Tempela”. The reception for the song has since been positive. It has also gained a lot of airplay across the Nigerian airwaves. It is one of many South African songs that have gained love in the country. You can check the song out below.
