Biography

Chuck Best has been writing, singing, and performing music since 1978. At the ripe age of 17 he played his first show with high school friend Tony Burton in the band Cerebus. It was magic to hit that stage and the dream was born. After Cerebus, Best played in Heavy Metal bands Big Finger & Menace. Soon to follow was the desire to write and record for himself. Thus being born Hard Road. After recruiting heavy hitters Tony Burton, Jon E. Gee & Dane Clark, Best went into the studio and wrote and recorded everything live, written on the spot, with long time producer and engineer Kirk Butler at his side. The album was a smash full of great tunes, bellowing Rolling Stones and Mott the Hoople influences, Best roars through this record. At the time of recording, Nuvo magazine voted Smells Like Lightning the number #1 record in the state of Indiana for that year, and #3rd in the country. Nuvo Music critic Jeff Napier said of Best, He's like a young Mick Jagger except he has something to say. Look for Chuck Best and his band Hard Road coming soon to a venue near you.
