Jan George is a young & upcoming Pop & Dance artist from Stockholm, Sweden. With years of playing shows and making a few cameo appearances in national TV shows, music videos and interviews for various magazines; his talent and nonetheless his recognition as a real artist is now starting to bloom and flourish.
When a total crowd estimated to around 75 000 people and being one of the closing acts in Köln (CSD) & The Headlining act for Helsinki Pride!... These might sound like the tour dates for a major artist whose name would instantly ring bells in your head when his name is mentioned. A strong dedication, talent and strong dance- pop material (backed up by well established song-writers) are the recipes behind this rising stars surge into the pop community. We are talking about Jan George who is one of Sweden’s premier unsigned pop-artists.
Jan George has among other things performed at Stockholm Pride 3 times allready (1999,2002,2003), as well as ”Okej-Dagen” at Liseberg Gothenburg 2003 infront of 15 000 people. On top of this, Jan George wrote history by becoming the first *unsigned* artist ever to land a performance slot at Okej Dagen without a record deal to lean back on. World known names who also started their carrier at Okej Dagen is: Backstreet Boys, Spice Girls, Eminem, Westlife, Jessica Simpson, Enrique Iglesias to name a few..
The summer 2004 proved to be an amazing summer for Jan George as an artist. Out on a mini-tour the 1:st stop was performing in a medley at Aarosfestivalen in Västerås Sweden along with Jimmy Jansson from the swedish tv show "Fame Factory". And stop nr 2 as the Headline Act for the Helsinki Pride in Finland with almost a 40 minutes show the Finish crowd loved what they saw and moving on to the last stop Europes biggest Pride festival CSD Köln in Germany. 1 million people walked & participated in the parade and Jan George performed where the parade ended as 1 of the 3 International artists along with Jimmy Sommerville (Bronski Beat), Benji (Caught in the act), Elli (German "Popstar" winner) and many other german pop & eurovision artists.
Some of his other shows include the Rockoff Festival on Åland Island (Finland) with 3 gigs, as well as a majority of other festival, club-tours, charity events & other gigs all around Sweden.
And like the phrases deja-vu or history repeats it really did year 2006. Jan George summer tour performances included Sweden & Athens (Greece) during the Eurovision Song Contest 2006. And in July his German tour kicked off when visited for the 2nd time Europes biggest Pride festival (CSD) Köln again and over there he stood on stage with the amount 60 000 people infront of the stage and 700 000 persons again around the huge park where the festival is based and the parade ends. After that the journey continoued to Frankfurt, Wurzburg and then to Munchen to perform infront of 20 000 in the audience and unfortunatly thats where we Sweden lost our Fifa World Cup 2006 chance against the germans. And at the end of the summer '06 JG was offered a record deal with a small indipended label in Germany, but turned it down though after many messages back and forth and feelings going up and down, he felt that waiting for a better deal and better material is the best!
2009 became a year to go wild and be indipended. Jan George started his own nightclub in Stockholm called Club Xplore, with huge success and hosting the first ever ESC preview party with 9 acts on stage, Jan hosted the whole show and made a night Stockholm wont forget. Running Club Xplore from Mars - August 2009 and at the same time starting to DJ:ing at different big clubs the name Jan George started to become a entrepreniur and mentioned on everyones lips.
To tease his audience and give them a sneak preview of the new material Jan George only did 3 exclusive performances 2009 at World Aids Day, Eskilstuna Pride and Blue Moon Bar. He says himself: It’s very important to do charity events and World Aids Day is something we all should support and gather as much money to by doing what we are blessed with doing and can, because people needs to start open their heart and front events like that. We are one, nobody should be left outside the sociaity just because they have a dissase or are ill. You can do what you can do to help out by using your talent, your contacts or your right to speech.
Jan George moved to Gran Canaria late august 2009 for an education in Bar Academy. And that became something he really loved so he stayed living in Gran Can for a half year, working for the famous nightclub Heaven.
Now, meanwhile working on the new sound and music he works as bartender in different clubs in Stockholm.
