STandART is an electronic / alternative music band formed in 2002 in Jelgava, Latvia. The band’s sound is dark and electronic, with an emphasis on live use of analog synthesizers. The band has self-released 2 albums and numerous singles. STandART have played concerts in the Baltic States, Finland, Sweden and Poland, including being the support act for such bands as Camouflage and De/Vision.
The album Australia was nominated for the Best Debut 2007 at Latvian Music Awards and won recognition of DJs and music magazines, who underline that, although STandART’s musical direction is clear, the band manages to create a very special and unique sound.
In November 2009, STandART released its 2nd studio album "Autumn News". Just like “Australia”, Autumn News was also produced in collaboration with Kaspars Tobis from the Latvian band Dzelzs vilks in Sigulda Sound Studio (Latvia). Two songs – "Pioneers" and "Autumn News" – were a result of collaboration with Polish musician Hien.
In summer 2010, the band recorded the song "Bez Miega Zirgi" for the compilation of Latvian independent artists “Stravoklis”. The song was produced in collaboration with "Gas of Latvia" and Sandris Savickis ("Starring Two"). In October 2010, STandART performed together with the Latvian singer-songwriter Goran Gora at the festvial “Bildes 2010”. One of the songs, a new version of “Autumn News”, was later re-released as a single - Autumn News (feat. Goran Gora).
