Lance the drummer was driving home from Austin one day when he noticed they had razed a wonderful music venue called Southpark Meadows to build a sprawling shopping center. He called Jason at home to tell him to write a song about the city's loss called Concrete Meadows. We all lamented the loss and Jason wrote a very ELO-influenced number that I think is one of their best. The song not only touches on the loss of the venue, but at how musicicians are getting shafted not only of cool places to play, but even getting paid for their music. Jake also play a Harrison-esque solo that we all thought was simple yet very tasteful.
