I was told if i went down south,into the bayou,

There was a feller that lived there,since 1942,

And if,when you met him,and he took a liking to you,

He would invite you in,and get out his home brew,

And if after a few gulps,you survived his booze,

He might show you a few licks,of the down south blues,

He would dig out that old axe,it was a fifty two,

And he would plug her into that amp,and play until she blew,

And that Swamp Man blues,could be heard for miles around,

And as he picked it out,his foot would stomp the ground,

They could feel the ground shake,all thru the bayou,

And all this good music,if he took a liking to you,

He said he'd been picking the blues,for fifty years or so,

He said his Grampa show'd him,when he was only four,

He said he would play,until his fingers were sore,

Until that old amp he had,wouldn't play no more,

Well,that old guitar,he had it all souped up,

It would make some weird noises,it was corrupt,

It made that old amp screech and howell,just like
