Kiernan Jarryd Forbes  popularly known  by his stage name AKA is a prolific Rap artiste in South Africa. His Genre of music is Rap. AKA is one of the biggest artiste in his genre and has done well over time for himself. Releasing hit songs and having is albums sold out.

AKA was born in Cape Town, Western Cape. He shuffled between the South and the Western world for his education before he finally decided he wanted to focus on his music career which his parents fully agreed to. Over the years AKA has been reported to be in a relation with various women. In 2014  he was reported to be dating Producer DJ Zinhle, the couple were blessed with a beautiful daughter in 2015, after which they separated which led to him dating Television celebrity presenter “Bonang Matheba”. The relationship didn’t last long as they went their separate way and now he is back with his baby mama DJ Zinhle.

AKA achieved breakthrough in his career after releasing his hit single titled “victory lap” which was featured on his “Alter Ego” album in 2011. Initially AKA had started music alongside his two friends, Vice Versa and Greyhound when they formed a singing group called “Entity”. The group later split up in 2006 which later made him become a solo art and a sound engineer.

AKA since the time of his debut has been able to release hit songs including Congratulate, Jika, Victory lap just to mention a few. He has also been able to make albums that have gone platinum over time, albums like, Altar Ego in 201,Levels in 2014, Be Careful What You Wish For  teaming up with Anatii in 2017 and Touch My Blood in 2018. AKA has done well for himself over the years undeniably.

AKA since his time of debut has gotten himself various award recognition, like the BET and MTV Base awards. He has also gotten himself various endorsement from Top brands in the South and also abroad. He got himself a grand endorsement with a vodka brand that led to his initials been up on one of the bottles of the Vodka brand. AKA’s last album also went platinum which made him one of the top artistes in South Africa to reckon with
