Becca Biography

Rebecca Akosua Acheampomaa Acheampong popularly known by her stage name Becca is a prolific singer, songwriter and performer in Ghana. Her genre of music is Afro soul which she performs both in her native language and English. Becca has performed on world stage with top African and international artistes. She is one of the best female artistes in Ghana.

Becca was born in Kumasi a town in Ghana. She has eight siblings and she is the first female child. During her childhood she was very active in school and church. She attended Morning Star and Wesley Girls’ High School here she took interest in showcasing her talent and her voice range. After her college education she relocated to Ghana and got signed into her first record label called EKB records owned by Kiki Banson.

Becca is happily married to Oluwatobi Sanni who is a Nigerian entrepreneur and artist manager with a grand wedding held in Ghana. Although she had earlier been in a controversy where her married manager allegedly left his wife just to get married to her, the issue was so hot it led to her Dad disowning her.

Becca got her major breakthrough into music when she contested in the second season of TV3’s annual singing competition Mentor after doing so well at the competition she debuted her first studio album “Sugar” in 2007 which housed amazing songs that became most listened to in Ghana and Becca became a household name and since then she has been churning out hit songs.

Becca since her debut has released hit songs like Daa Ke Da, Me ni wa, Na wash, Magic just to mention a few. She has also released major albums that have gone platinum since the time of her debut, albums Sugar, Time 4 Me and Unveiling. This is one artiste that has carved a niche for herself in the entertainment industry.

Becca since debuting has won herself various awards both in Ghana and International, among this is the Kora awards and Ghana music awards. She has also gotten various nominations for her work. Becca has gotten herself endorsement deals from top brands both in Ghana and Internationally. She has also collaborated with top artistes around the World.
