Idols SA Season 17: The Judges, Audition, Broadcasting Channels, Date, Time & Previous Winner

Idols SA Season 17

After what some peeps have described as fits and turns Idols SA Season 17 is beginning finally, this Sunday 11 July 2021. Expectedly, expectation s are high, not only among the contestants, but among those rooting for them as well.

Of course, at the end of the day, there will be only one winner. But it wouldn’t hurt to try. Or would it?

Season 17 Judges

The judges for Idols SA season 17 are seasoned figures in South African entertainment. They are ProVerb, Unathi Nkayi, Somizi Mhlongo, and Randall Abrahams.

ProVerb, an associate of the late ProKid, is a musician and SAMRO (South Africa Musical Rights Organization) member who’d once attempted suicide when his ex-wife cheated on him.

A musician herself, Unathi Nkayi is also a media personality and one of the judges who’ve been on the show for years.

Somizi occupies the offices of an actor, singer, and choreographer. He’s especially famous for his gregarious personality. On his part, Randall Abrahams is a radio and TV personality and one who stands out for his pointed criticisms of contestants on the show.

Idols SA has just got a fresh prince who might not be a fresh prince… Well, that’s in the sense that he is no newcomer in the world of South African music, nor is he an obscure figure.

Meet Kabelo Motsami, the South African disc jockey and producer long famous by the stage name Prince Kaybee.

Idols Season 17 Audition

Idols SA season 17 is markedly different in the sense that the coronavirus provoked a change in the way the audition was done. It was done online to mitigate the spread of the virus. That didn’t stop music hopefuls from inundating the inbox of the show with applications.

That stage is over and it is time to begin the real thing – a season of great pressures, with hope to be raised and hopes to be smashed.
