Best Amapiano Songs Of All Time

When it comes to music in South Africa, nothing stays too still. There is always an evolving happening as far as genres are concerned. It was Gqom that was at the forefront, now it’s Amapiano getting everybody excited. So now we’ve decided to make a list of our 10 top amapiano songs this year.

10. iGama by Gaba Cannal feat. Dladla Mshunqisi

This song takes a slower approach and slowly draws you in. It has been one of the best we have seen this year and has a guaranteed spot on the list.

9. ‘Bum Bum’ by El Maestro feat. TP

When El Maestro decided to drop Bum Bum, who better to have on it that TP? Well, the two made a solid pair on this song . While TP wrote it, production credit for this belongs to El Mastro and we love it.

8. ‘Yey Wena’ by Cyburmusiq

This song from Cyburmusiq had Jozina on it and emerged as one of the most played songs in SA recently. The beats can get you dancing and of course it made the list. A favorite too.

7. ‘Kokota’ by KayGee Daking feat. Bizizi and Killer Kau

This song from KayGee Daking had Bizizi and Killer Kau on it and sampled beats of Kwaito of the 90s. It has the potential to actually be one of 2019’s best songs.

6. ‘Yebo-Pa’ by Kabza De Small

Kabza De Small has come through with a number of songs and projects this year but this one stands out. A real winner too of the amapiano extraction. We love it and recommend that you check it out.

5. ‘Mduva’ by Kay Invictus

A part of the Spiritual Sounds EP, this song from Kay Invictus is being played everywhere. One of the best gifts we have gotten this year. We love it and recommend listening.

4. ‘Blissful Day’ by De Mthuda

Taken off his “Forever” album, this song from De Mthuda was one of the standout tracks on that project and one that we got to groove to. A natural selection.

3. ‘Freak Like Me’ by Thackzin

This song from Thackzin made many playlists and the spiritual sounds vibe too. Slow and grinding, it went and we loved it, still love it and of course it has to be on this list. Listen.

2. ‘Paradise 1475’ by Thackzin

Another Thackzin song. Well, what can we say? He has had that big an impact this year and deserves to have both slots. The song made playlists too and is a top amapiano song. A recommended listen.

1. ‘Vula Vala’ by DJ Maphorisa, Kabza De Small, Vigro Deep feat. Nokwazi

This song came off DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small‘s Scorpion Kings EP and has been one of the highlights of the year. A real solid one that we’ve been able to groove to. A natural for this list as well.
