Elias Barnabas Inyansi popularly known popularly by his stage name Barnaba is a singer, songwriter and performer from Tanzania. He is a classic and young wave making artist in Tanzania. His genre of music is Bongo Flava that has done extremely well for Himself in the Tanzanian music Industry. He is one of the artists in the Tanzania House of Talent’ stable.
Elias Barnabas Inyasi (Barnaba) began his wonderful musical career from training for vocals in his local church choir in 2000. Which led to him joining the Tanzanian House of Talent (THT) at the age of 17. The major reason for joining the house of talent was to become a hip-hop musician, although his main musical interests soon changed when he was presented with a guitar which he has since treasured. It is due to the support and encouragement through TNT that Barnaba’s family life has been transformed.
He achieved his breakthrough when he releases his first song “Baby I Love You” in 2007. After He soon realized that he had to be different and exceptional to make it onto the music scene. He later came up with “Njia Panda” which then launched him into his fame after the song became an enormous success in the Tanzanian music industry. He has been able to fall through with his dreams and aspiration of becoming an international star. Barnaba has gone on to win himself various award recognition while also getting various ambassadorial roles from top brands in Tanzania.
With his top trending albums such as Ambient Noised State (Missed White Noised Idea) 1915, Gold 1918 and singles like Siri,Lover Boy, Milele daima, Tunafanana, Nya’nga Nya’nga, Allows, Transient, Wahalade, Chausiku (which saw him team up with Tanzanian songstress, Vanessa Mdee), Dicewar, Ausstellungen, Knap just to mention a few. He has been able to prove is lyrical prowress and the ability to flow within the genre.
Barnaba has been able to experiment with a variety of instruments, techniques, and genres. He recently received the most music accolades at the recently concluded Tanzania Music Awards with two of his recent songs being at number one on the music charts.
Barnaba plays the bass guitar, rhythm guitar as well as the piano although his major talent lies in composing music. Also, he was voted as the number one composer in Tanzania. He is presently writing and producing songs for top Tanzanian artists. He scored big in June of 2011 when he had reportedly written a whopping six out of twenty top favorite songs in Tanzania.
