Patoranking Biography

Our focus shifts today to Nigerian Reggae/dance-hall Artist  Patoranking.

Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie popularly known by his stage name Patoranking, is a Nigerian reggae-dance-hall singer and songwriter. He started his music career doing underground collaborations with artists such as XProject, Konga, Slam and Reggie Rockstone.

In 2010 He signed a record deal with K-Solo’s Igberaga Records, releasing “Up in D Club” under the outfit. Patoranking became a protégé of Dem Mama Records after collaborating with Timaya on his song “Alubarika”. In February 2014, he signed a record deal with Foston Musik and released “Girlie O”, a single that put him in the limelight.

Patoranking announced on Instagram On 9 February 2015 that he signed a distribution deal with VP Records.With albums like God over Everything (2016) and Wilmer (2019) Patoranking has shown the world that he is capable of dropping hit songs. 1. CONFIRM
This song featured the DMW boss himself Davido. This  song inspires hustle and talks about having it all. It is a great and rather subtle blend between Afropop and dancehall.

The Artists in their various verses confirmed  that many people can attest to their riches with Davido saying everything about him represents affluence, he wears only designers and associates himself with expensive things which are blessings from God.

2. SUH DIFFERENT
This is a party/dance-hall song which was produced by Mix Master Garzy. The song can be said to be a dance-hall inspired anthem and with an intro like ‘I’m so excited it’s already weekend,’ it is sure to get you on the dance-floor.

This vibrant summer sound also has Jamaican street selector Ikel Marvlus from Team Shella on the intro. The song is a blend of dance-hall and reggae put together for flirting. Patoranking talks about a girl he is attracted to because she is different from others.

The energetic beat is a perfect pairing with the infectious lyrics; ensuring that the song quickly gets stuck in your head. The visual of the song which has a carnival theme also did justice to the lyrics and the song. Check it out.

3. NO KISSING BABY
This song featured the Ghanaian Rap artist Sarkodie  which as proven to be a hit over the years. The song was released in 2016 in ‘God Over Everything’ album .

The song was on the top charts in many countries to an extent gaining numerous awards such as The Headies Award for Best Reggae. The song was produced by  Gospel on d beatz .

This song which still rock airwaves from 2016 till date, has amazing lyrics that has to do with consent. It is a good song that has educative lyrics to it. Check it out.

4. HALE HALE
This song by the Nigerian Reggae Artist Patoranking talks about love. In the song Patoranking serenades is foreign love interest. This is the track 13 on the “God over Everything Album, a solo track by Patoranking himself dedicated to the fans.

This song was produced by E-kelly’s. The visuals  to the song which has a romance narrative was directed by  Aje Films and was shot at a location in Togo. The visual showed Patoranking in a comical story telling atmosphere where he was trying to serenade his love interest who was seen grinning uncontrollably.

The E-kelly produced mid-tempo dance track is among the last sets of songs on the album. Nice piece here. Check it out.

5. MAKE AM
This song features the Ebonyi State Band and  was released in 2016. The great song became an inspirational anthem to his long list of fans for its great message, every thing from the flow to the beats.

His best yet unique voice asset still crown the song. The lyrics of the song is dedicated to those people who want God to take them to the next level.

He also tell the listeners that money can make one to change. The song was complemented with a comical video which tells a story of grass to grace as it saw Patoranking and his crew attain success even after being scorned by their successful friends. Lovely song. Check it out.

6. MY WOMAN
This song features the Black Diamond himself Nigerian Singer Wande Coal. The song which made  airwaves go crazy  just as expected, won Patoranking MTV Africa Music Award for Song of the Year and also made it to be nominated at the City People Music Award for the Best Collaboration of the Year as well as The Headies Award for Best Pop Single.

The song which was released as far back as 2015 is still a hit today. The lyrics of the love song is not one to be forgotten anytime soon. Most people still have the chorus of the song on their lips and they greatly enjoy it.

The song which is still receiving massive airplay was complemented with a beautiful visual that did justice to it lyrics. Check it out.

7. WILMER
This song features talented French-Georgian singer/international pop star, Bera. The song which is the first track off his album also named “Wilmer” which he released this year and dedicated to his daughter.

The song talks about love and support between two lovers. Patoranking in talking about the song said it meant a lot to him because it is a legacy he would be leaving for his daughter. The lyrics of the song was also done justice to with the beautiful visuals that featured his daughter as well. Check it out.

8. THIS KIND LOVE
This song features Nigeria Artist Wizkid. This is a dance-able yet inspiring song by Patoranking that was released in 2016 in his ‘God Over Everything’ album.

This song has quite a number of views, many likes, and downloads. Since the hit song was released in the market, many copies have been sold.

9. OPEN FIRE
This song features South African Female Gqom Singer Busiswa. This is a song produced by Boris Vossgatter and Monareng Makwetla off the superstar’s second album, Wilmer, named after his daughter which came out in May this year.

The visuals to the song was Shot and directed by Simon Coleman of Cape Town’s Giant Films.The video complements the energy in the song with its carnival feeling. Check it out.

10. GOD OVER EVERYTHING
The song as its title implies talks about God being supreme over every aspect of a human’s life. God over Everything’ is a favorite to many since it was released in 2016.

It made Patoranking win South African Music Award for Best African Artist as well as contributing to his popularity everywhere. This is a track off his Album which has the same title in 2016.
