When it comes to the music industry in Nigeria, the growth has been phenomenal. There was a time when actors used to rule in terms of popularity and finance but artistes have since become the biggest on the stage.
Apart from performance fees, and shows, endorsements are a huge deal for Nigerian artistes and as far as the big companies are concerned, Nigerian artistes are a bigger deal on the stage than most of the other artistes and score the big deals.
In fact, it is not only singers that get to be patronized by the big brands, even DJs get a shot at the honey pot. Anyway, as far as big artistes go in Nigeria, Davido, Burna Boy, Wizkid and Olamide are some of the biggest names.
So, we’ll go through and check what they’re worth. There is the possibility that we may miss some of it, but feel free to point that out in the comment section.
Olamide
In 2013, Olamide signed a deal with Ciroc. It was put at N30 million naira. That was just the beginning for him as he added deals with Guinness and Etisalat to the mix and there has been no looking back for him since then.
He reportedly has houses, 2 filling stations and different businesses around and charges between 2 million and 4 million naira per show, making him one of the most expensive artistes around.
Asides this, tickets for his shows range between N15, 000 naira and N300, 000 naira. Olamide’s net worth is estimated at N6 billion naira.
Burna Boy
Burna Boy is another of the big boys in the industry. He has been bagging endorsement deals from way early in the days of Aristokrat Records and still does so today.
Admittedly, the bad boy image has made him lose some of those deals but he has more than made up for it recently and is easily one of the big names on the scene.
He had an endorsement deal with Globacom that fell off because of a bad conduct but is back with endorsement with Martell and Star.
News is also that he charges as much as 5 million naira to perform. In fact, word is that he does not take less than that. He is worth, according to reports, Burna Boy is worth over N3.5 billion naira.
Davido
The Omo baba olowo is one of the biggest names around. Remember that time he said there’s 30 billion for the akant? Well…. that may have been slightly exaggerated but he’s got mad doe.
He has deals with Infinix Mobility, AXE perfume, Travelbeta, and has been known to charge huge amounts for his performances too.
Reports say he Davido’s net worth is over 9.2 billion naira.
Wizkid, like Davido is a smart business person who models too. He has had partnerships with the likes of Nike and modeled for Dolce & Gabbana.
He is a brand ambassador for Ciroc and UBA and has struck many international collabs with top artistes too, most recently, Beyonce. Wizkid is worth an estimated 9.8 billion naira.
