At this point, you have probably heard about the Netflix reality show Young, Famous & African. But how well do you know that cast? That’s what we’re going to explore in this article.

The title of the reality show bears clues to what the show is about – an exploration of the lives of some of Africa’s young, rich and famous faces.

The cast members are from several African countries, including South Africa, Uganda, Nigeria and Tanzania. Details about them follow.

1. Diamond Platnumz

He’s a singer from Tanzanian and one of the most famous music figures in the East African country, if not the most popular. Diamond Platnumz is known for his music and his relationship with women.

He’s had affairs with several women, one of whom is also a member of the cast of the reality show, Zari Hassan, a businesswoman. He’s also known to show massive love to Nadia Nakai whenever he flies into South Africa to see the kids he had with Zari.

2. Zari Hassan (Zari, The Boss Lady)

Zari is a businesswoman who was formerly married to Diamond Platnumz. Their union had collapsed amid claims by Diamond that she had a fling with one of the P-Square. Diamond had also threatened revenge.

Zari dismissed the claims, however. After a period of sporadic tiffs, peace is reigning between them. But they’re no longer a couple.

3. Nadia Nakai

Nadia is a South African rapper who burst into the music scene only “recently,” with a song titled “Yass Bitch.” However, she’s risen magically on the music scene ever since.

She was formerly signed to Cassper Nyovest’s Family Tree record label. But she ditched the record label to found one of her own. She also started dating Kiernan “AKA” Forbes, a known public rival to her former boss at Family Tree.

4. Swanky Jerry

True to his adopted stage name, Swanky Jerry is a celebrity designer of Nigerian provenance. His designs stand out so much that some people have even described them as outlandish. Yet, he stands out for his sartorial elegance wherever he shows up.

Apart from his keen sense of style, he’s also known for his friendships with Annie Idibia, a member of the reality show cast.

5. Annie Macaulay-Idibia

Annie Idibia is a celebrated actress of Nigerian provenance with many movie credits to her name. However, some peeps more easily identify her as the wife of the renowned musician 2Baba (Innocent Idibia).

Annie and 2Baba have had sporadic tiffs in their relationship. She trended yesterday, March 18, when she revealed on the set of the show that she met the musician first, but other women had children for him before her. She gave him his fifth child, which somehow doesn’t sit well with her.

6. Andile Ncube

Andile Ncube is a creative soul with a long history of hosting several television shows. His hosting odyssey encapsulates The Search: E! Host South Africa and The X Factor South Africa.

Besides hosting, the millennial is also a notable football fan.

7. Naked DJ

Contrary to what his adopted stage name might suggest, this DJ dos not hit the decks and turntables naked. But you can count on him to spill out his soul playing good music – for the club, radio, or wherever.

The former Real Housewives of Johannesburg star was previously married to the socialite Naledi Willers (who died of cancer last year).

8. Khanyi Mbau

Khanyi Mbau is a South African actress and singer and one of the most controversial figures in the industry. It’s been an exciting ride for the mother of one, who got involved with the wealthy businessman Mandla Mthembu, who’s many years her senior. She was just 19 then.

For the latter part of his life, Mandla Mthembu struggled financially. And then he’d vanished without a trace.

Khanyi Mbau continued on the journey without him. She’s since made a great success of he solo adventure and become the toast of many men, including the presenter Tebogo Lerole.

Khanyi Mbau is currently dating a Zimbabwean named Kudzai Terrence Mushonga. The dram queen that she is, she’d one ditched her fan in the United Arab Emirates and flew home to South Africa. She’d made a song out of that incident soon after, to the amusement of her compatriots.
