Pakishe Aaron Motsoaledi is a South African medical doctor and surgeon, politician, and current minister of home affairs, a position he is holding after a stint as the country’s health minister.

Born in Limpopo, a province bordering Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique, Pakishe Aaron Motsoaledi showed great love for education pretty early and was more than happy to go to medical school from where he graduated as a doctor.

H served as a Chairperson of the Sekhukhune Advice Office from 1986 to 1994, as well as Chairperson of the Hlahlolanang Health and Nutrition Education Project in 1989. He held several other important positions, including that of Head of the ANC Elections Commission for Limpopo Province in 1994.

He has also served as a member of the executive council (MEC) for Transport from 1998 to 1999 and MEC for Agriculture, Land and Environment in 1999. His most recent positions are those of minister of health and most recently minister of home affairs. It is in his current role, though, that he has to face the most severe criticism.

The minister was born in 1958, which makes him 64 years at the time of writing. He will be 65 in early August. While some notable figures are all for wild parties during their birthdays, Aaron Motsoaledi is mostly on the quiet side.

The minister’s wife is no other than Thelma Dikeledi, who appears to have as much interest in the health sector as her husband. She was at some point the port health officerDepartment of Health and Social Care. She has a close relationship with her husband, who had once told her to stop bidding on travel and accommodation business.

The minister is blessed with not one but three daughters. However, when people talk about his daughter – singular reference – they mostly referenced the one who followed in his footsteps by studying medicine at the university. He also has two sons, by the way.

The minister attended the University of KwaZulu-Natal, where he graduated with a medical and surgery degree. Before then, he had attended the Setotolwane High School, where he did pretty well as a student. He stands out for his love of education.

Aaron Motsoaledi is a medical doctor with a bachelor of medicine and surgery (MBBS) degree from the University of Natal. His current position appeared to have overshadowed the fact that he can from the medical sciences. Some South Africans even think he is out of place as minister of home affairs.

Views On Foreigners

As South Africa’s home affairs minister, whatever Aaron Motsoaledi says carries a lot of weight, especially as it concerns foreigners. While he is not exactly against foreigners in South Africa, he reportedly has little patience for those who got into the country illegally. It was previously reported that he instructed the police to hound foreign nationals and ask for identification, but he denied it, stating it no law enforcement officer needs instruction from a minister to pursue his work.
