Biography
Busiswe Twala popularly known as Cici is a South African singer, dancer and actress best known for creating the hits “Iqiniso”, “Bad Gal”, and “Runaway”.
Cici was born in Ladysmith, South African. She has stated that she was born into a religious family. Her late father was a pastor, and so was her mother. They both supported her music career. She currently resides in Johannesburg.
Cici became very passionate about music at a young age. She was inspired by the late Brenda Fassie, and Lebo Mathosa. She has stated that she studied to the University level after which she dropped out to focus on her music. She was studying Psychology at the time.
Cici first attained recognition after she emerged winner of the South Africa Artist & Development Association auditions. She became even more popular in 2015, after her first song “Runaway” became a resounding hit. She has since successfully stayed in the spotlight dropping hits, and working with known hit makers including Mafikizolo, Donald and more. She has also released her debut album “Busiswe” which earned praise from fans.

Child
Months after sharing a photo of herself in a bridal gown, Cici announced that she was pregnant with her first child. Mzansi was shocked at the news because she had previously stated that she couldn’t have children. In an interview with Daily Sun, at the time, she said
“He said during pregnancy, the child sits on the pelvic bones, and because mine were broken and had screws in them, I may never be able to have children.”
On the 15th of May, Cici gave birth to her first child, a son named Diallo. She also created an official instagram page for the new born.
Baby Daddy
In 2019, Cici shared a photo of herself in a bridal gown hinting to fans that she had gotten married. However, she refused to unveil the identity of the man she married. She announced her first pregnancy a few days after the wedding leading everyone to believe that her “mystery” husband is her baby daddy. There is certainly no better explanation for that. Fans have unveiled him to be Rugby agent and sports entrepreneur, Puledi Manamela.

Dating Donald
Because Cici isn’t one to reveal things about her personal life, her relationships have been speculated. For a while, she has been romantically linked to South African singer, Donald but the two are yet to confirm it.
Following the release of their steamy romance track “Landela”, they both shared a photo of themselves together to their social media pages. Because of how cute they looked, fans began speculating that they were seeing each other. The hashtag #DonaldLovesCici was formed after Donald asked fans to caption the photo. They also released “Uzobuya”.
Record Label
At the beginning of her career, Cici was signed to Authur Mafokate’s record label and also managed by him. The two were also seeing each other until news broke that he physically abused and assaulted her. This led to a legal war after which she left the label.
She later signed with Ambitiouz Entertainment in September 2019. While artists were departing the label, she revealed that she was happy there and could see a future with them.
