Da Capo Biography

Da Capo is a South African house music DJ and producer and unarguably one of the finest in the game.

It is said his foray into music began when he was still a teen. He taught himself to produce and has so mastered the art that it is hard not to fall in love with his creative orbit. As early as 21, he had already become a celebrated DJ and producer. Now he travels around the world for gigs.

He readily counts Andy Compton and Nick Holder among his inspiration.

Songs

The web of Da Capo’s songs is pretty thick, encapsulating disparate themes. The songs are flamboyant in imagery and mostly cosmic in appeal. Whatever your musical thirst buds, we are confident you will find something worth consuming from his oeuvre.

Some of Da Capo’s songs that might interest you include the following:

Da Capo – Found You Ft. Berita

Da Capo – Speed Of Sound Ft. Tresor

Da Capo – My Addiction Ft. Darian Crouse

Da Capo – Dancing In The Villa

Albums

Da Capo is one of the most prolific musicians from South Africa. It isn’t surprising he should have several songs to his name and a couple of albums, too. Notable among his albums is the 10-track “Touch,” a fine body of work that can that still “touch” the soul of the listener seven years after it was released in 2013.

Although Da Capo was young in South Africa’s music orbit back then, he left no one in doubt he was out to win, and keep winning. Favourite tracks in “Touch” include “Earth People,” “Time,” “Take Me There,” and “Love Someone.”

Touched

Three years later, he followed that up with another album. “Touched” was intriguing because, among others, the title is the past tense of the adopted title of the songster’s 2013 album.

At just 6 tracks, “Touched” was 4 tracks short of the tracklist for “Touch.”

Indigo Child

A year later, in 2017, Da Capo premiered a 12-track dance compilation titled “Indigo Child.” This body of work begins with the Wanda Baloyi-assisted “Take Your Time” and ends with “Kelaya.”

Genesys

His most recent album is titled “Genesys.” This 9-track compilation plays for exactly 1 hour and 5 minutes. You can stream it right here on Apple Music.

Awards

For some artistes, awards mean everything; for some others, awards are just what they are: awards. Da Capo is not exactly obsessed with awards, but then his creative spirit has earned him several nominations and a couple of awards.

He was, for instance, nominated in the South African Music Awards for Best Dance Album. Also, back in 2019, he was nominated for the International DJ Awards alongside Culoe De Song, Floyd Levine, Hyenah, Osunaled, and Super Flu.

He was crowned Best Afro House DJ at the event, cementing his place as an important voice in the world of South African music and entertainment.

Given his creative powers and his dedication to his art, we expect more awards to follow.

Education

Information about Da Capo’s education is pretty scanty. Well, his success as a club DJ and producer compensates for this poverty of information on his educational background.

Based on his interviews, however, it is apparent he is articulate and a great conversationalist – someone you want to have over for an extensive chat.

Net Worth

Well, one may count Da Capo among the lovers of the good life. And yes, as they say, he is living the life. Although we are unable to determine his exact net worth, we know he might be counted in the millionaires’ league.

For one who has been consistent with his art and even gone international, his material success should surprise no one. And oh, don’t bother asking him for his exact net worth. He wouldn’t give you that.

 Age & Relationships

De Capo is 27 years old and apparently still single. In the past, he was linked with several women. Right now he is more concerned about taking his music to the zenith.

Of course, this in no way means he is closed to new experiences.
