Biography
Mandisa Radebe, popularly known as DBN Gogo is a South African female DJ and producer who gained attention after she featured on the Channel O Lockdown House Party in 2020. Prior to her feature on the popular Live show, she had had successful stints at DJing until her big break. Her outstanding performance on the show drew so much attention to her, causing her to become one of the most talked about female DJs in South Africa from 2020 into 2021. She is also known for the popular online Quarantine Sessions, “Quarantunes Live” which has gotten only positive reviews from fans.
DBN Gogo was originally born in Durban, but grew up with her parents, Jeff and Bridgette in Pretoria. She also spent 4 years living with them in France. She has stated that living in France exposed her to a large variety of music and artistes. She lived most of her life in Pretoria, and has stated that it is where people majorly know her from.
She is very fluent in French owing to the time spent in France. She is also a Law student, and a massive fan of SA Hip Hop. DBN Gogo has stated that she loves travelling.

While DBN Gogo is yet to reveal her birthdate to the public, a lot of media sites have described her as “relatively young”. (We will share it when her exact age is revealed.)
Real Name
Despite being known all over South Africa as DBN Gogo, her real name is Mandisa Radebe. She took the name, DBN Gogo because everyone called her “De-Ben Gogo” which was given to her by her friends. However, she is not a Gogo. It was exposed in 2020, Gogo is from a very wealthy lineage and is a relative of President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Parents
An article published by Briefly in 2021 revealed that DBN Gogo is the daughter of Jeff Radebe, the former minister of energy, and businesswoman, Bridgette Motsepe. Jeff Radebe happens to be a brother in law of Cyril Ramaphosa and Patrice Motsepe. According to reports, his sisters were married to the president and Patrice.
DJ & Music Career
Mzansi was stunned to discover that DBN Gogo had single handedly made a name for herself without revealing her family’s status or using their affluence.
She has only been Deejaying for a few years, and is very new to the industry. According to her, it has been something she’s wanted to do for a long time. She has also called herself “a really musical person” who used to “play the piano, sing, dance”. She stated that the only thing she didn’t do was Deejay but “it sort of kind of found me”.
She is famous for playing all sorts of House music, but not Gqom. She has revealed that her music style was influenced by the various places she has lived. She was born on bred in Mzansi Groove capital, Durban, lived in Pretoria and Johannesburg, and has had adventures in Europe.
In under one year, Gogo has established herself as one of Mzansi’s most sort after DJs. She is known for her electric sets and performances which always sets her apart from other DJs.
