Albums

Dr Tumi has got a couple of albums to his name, all of them delivered with finesse and soulfulness that is at once arresting and cosmic. We are sure, like us, you will enjoy every minute listening to them.

Dr Tumi – Heart of a King

“Heart of a King” is one of the earliest works of Dr Tumi and one of the most engaging, too. This 16-track gospel magic promises to engage just about any listener interested in gospel music.

It begins with a heartwarming tune titled “Awesome God” and ends on a “Happy” note. Simply lovely.

Dr Tumi – Love On The Cross

This body of work houses 20 tracks in all and plays for 1 hour and 44 minutes. It begins with the soulful “Ditheto,” a collaborative work with Ndlovu Mass Choir, and ends with “Prayer,” a deep number featuring Pastor Mike Makweya.

We count “Love On The Cross” one of our favourite albums from Dr Tumi yet. Although it is one year since the album’s release, the 20-track compilation is as charming as ever. You should love it.

Awards

For a singer of his gift and utility, it is inevitable Dr Tumi should be nominated for awards and actually win some of them.

He has won several awards, including the SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards (during its 9th edition, in 5 categories, including Song of the Year for his hit “Nothing Without You”).

Education

Dr Tumi is one of those highly educated individuals who found an arena in the world of music. He is a certified medical doctor, having graduated with honours from the Medical University of Southern Africa (Medunsa).

It has been said he was particularly encouraged to study medicine by his father. Of course, he has no regrets he studied the course.

He now runs a successful medical practice in the heart of Mabopane, north of Pretoria.

Although it is unknown if he has a musical education as well, Dr Tumi has so excelled in the gospel genre that a debate on whether he has a musical education or not is entirely otiose. So it is best rested.

Net Worth

Dr Tumi is fairly comfortable as a surgeon and as a gospel artiste. Both offices have been fetching him good money.

Although we can’t give a specific figure for his net worth, we place him, based on the worth of his surgery in Mabopane, North of Pretoria, and his singing engagements, among the millionaires on the music scene in South Africa.

Age & Relationships

Dr Tumi turned 39 exactly 6 days ago (10 July). For those hankering for a relationship with him, we bring you bad news: The gospel champ is married to Kgaegolo Makweya and happy in his union which has resulted in three kids (Bokamoso, Khumoetlile, and Onalerona).

Also, he is not a polygamist. So if you are thinking of coming in as a second wife, you have failed again.
