Dricus du Plessis is a South African professional mixed martial artist. He currently competes in the Middleweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Du Plessis previously competed in the Middleweight division of Extreme Fighting Championship (EFC). There, he is the former Middleweight and Welterweight Champion.

Dricus du Plessis has been a professional since 2013 and has also competed for Polish-based promotion Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki (KSW). Besides being a two-time EFC Middleweight and former EFC Welterweight Champion, Du Plessis is also a former KSW Welterweight Champion. As of March 7, 2023, Dricus du Plessis is ranked #6 in the UFC middleweight.

At age 5, Dricus du Plessis started training in judo. He eventually drifted to kickboxing when he turned 14. He eventually became a WAKO World Champion in K-1 style kickboxing. When he realized there was no money to be made in kickboxing, du Plessis migrated to mixed martial arts. He studied agricultural economics at the University of Pretoria but dropped out during the final year to focus on pursuing a career in mixed martial arts.

In 2013, du Plessis made his professional debut in Mixed Martial Arts, amassing an undefeated 4–0 record. Later, he faced future UFC veteran and then-EFC Middleweight Champion Garreth McLellan at EFC Africa 33. He lost via guillotine choke submission in the third round.

In 2018, du Plessis faced KSW Welterweight Champion Roberto Soldić for the KSW Welterweight Championship at KSW 43: Soldić vs. Du Plessis on April 14. He won Soldic via TKO after dropping him with a left hook.

On 11 October 2020, Du Plessis made his promotional debut in the UFC against Markus Perez at UFC Fight Night 179. He won the fight in round one via knockout.
