Themba Mbongeni Nkosi also known as DJ Themba is a Music DJ, music producer, and radio presenter who is known for playing House Music under the alias, Euphonik. He has been on the South African music scene since 2006. He is one of South Africa’s biggest House DJs, and has earned a good following on the international scene. He is also known to have worked with several radio stations in South Africa, currently with 947.

Themba Mbongeni Nkosi aka Euphonik was born in Mpumalanga, South Africa and spent his childhood in Likazi. He later moved to Klerksdorp, and then to Benoni. Themba developed a strong passion for music at a young age listening to his father’s musical choices. His father usually played international and local artists including The Spinners, Marvin Gaye, Stimela, and Hugh Masekela.
During his late teens, Themba began DJing. He established himself as a DJ in the club music scene. A little later, his music received airplay, first at the regional radio station, YFM. In 2004, he joined forces with DJ Kent and produced the album “Kentphonik”. He also began his radio career at YFM, doing mixes on radio shows, and signed a record deal with Soul Candi in 2006.
Later on, he was offered the opportunity to host his own shows at 5FM. There he hosted two weekly shows including the Saturday show, Ultimix Weekend Edition which featured new music and mixes from South African DJs and internationally too. The show was the brainchild from the popular 5FM show, The Ultimix @6 which aired from Monday to Friday on the Roger Goode Show. The show played songs from the leading dance artists across the world. The Saturday edition was discontinued in 2014. He also hosted a Sunday show showcasing the most popular House tunes from around the world.
In 2009, Euphonik formed a band named F.Eu. with his friend, DJ Fresh. The band has recorded a total of 4 albums together. The two man band travels to Ibiza and Miami every year to play at events such as the South African Miami Invasion, and Ultra Fest Miami.
In 2017, Euphonik began playing under the alias, DJ Themba. He has shared the same stage with some of the biggest DJs in the world including Skrillex, Tiesto, Swedish House Mafia, Avicii, Black Coffee, and more. He has also won several awards and released lots of House Music hits. He has dropped several albums including volumes of the “For The Love Of House”, and mix albums.
