Folarin Falana, professionally known as Falz, is a Nigeria lawyer, activist, songwriter and actor. A millennial, he’s the son of two famous legal luminaries.
Falz’s interest in music dates back to when he was in secondary school. Back then, in Olashore International School in Osun state, he had founded a band called The School Boys with his friends.
The band is now defunct but Falz’s name is already out there as a fine musician, one some people often compare with Fela.
The real name of the “Soldier” star is is Folarin Falana. Apparently he edited his surname to get the stage name by which he is now justly famous.
Falz is one of the few Nigerian musicians who came from rich home but have made their own money and also become famous. Falz is the son of the famous constitutional lawyer Femi Falana. The elder Falana, who runs a law firm with his wife Funmi, is one of the most respected names in Nigerian jurisprudence.
Born in 1990, Falz is currently 30 years. He will be 31 in October.
The president of th Sweet Boys Association certainly oozes the cheddar. The songster might be counted among the wealthy musicians in the country. Although his exact net worth is unknown, we confirm it runs into hundreds of millions – not bad for one entirely devoted to his work.
Like his father before him, Falz is an activist, but his activism is not as pronounced as his father’s.
A trained lawyer, Falz sometines uses his music as a medium for activism, campaigning for change in Nigeria and on the African continent.
In 2018, he released “This Is Nigeria,” a cover of Childish Gambino’s “This Is America.”The song, which deplores the corruption and killing in Nigeria, was an instant hit with many in Nigeria and even internationally.
However, it was severely criticized by the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC). Soon enough, the song was banned by the NBC, which described the lyrics as “vulgar.”
He was also in the vanguard of the #EndSARS protests, an initiative to end police brutality in Nigeria. On #EndSARS, he said it was something that had to be done.
Count Falz among the car-loving collective in Nigerian and indeed Africa. The “Soft Work” rapper is giving many soft life goals with hs impressive collection of choice whips.
Among the cars ahe owns are a Rolls Royce Phantom worth over N145 million. He bought the choice track following an endorsement deal with MTN in 2016. He also has a Lexus LX570 worth about 37 million.
When Falz signed an endorsement deal with Cheki, he was given a car of undisclosed make and model. The songster also has a vintage Mercedes Benz which rarely leaves his apartment.
Falz’s legal career began after obtaining a degree in law from the University of Reading in England and attending the Nigerian Law School. On his law studies, the songster had told fans in an Instagram live session earlier this year that it helped his music.
