At the age of 58, Jerry added his biological father’s surname, Makhetha, to his name. He had found out from a family member that he hadn’t been using his surname all his life. He became known as Jerry Mofokeng wa Makhetha. Apparently, he had known his biological father all along but didn’t know he was his biological father until the age of 58.
He adviced parents of secret children to be honest with their children. “Fathers and mothers of ‘secret children’ — a humble request to tell your children their paternity and identity. Do it responsibly and with good timing, but please do it. I’ve met too many people wounded/scarred from this secrecy and rejection. Countless angry men and women with daddy issues.”
He adviced them to be transparent because it would help the children, “Allow me to plead that the rejection stops. It’s not your kids’ fault. You don’t have to be ashamed forever for your error of judgment and childish ways for the past. Please heal and restore that person. You can give an entire lineage their identity by revealing someone’s father/paternity.”
According to several sources on the internet, Jerry Mofokeng has an estimated worth of $ 500,000. However, this remains an unconfirmed estimate as Jerry has not made his assets known to the public. He has earned most of his income as an actor.
Jerry Mofokeng was born in Moema Street – Orlando West, SOWETO. That’s the street where Hector Petersen was killed on June 16, 1976. He has not shared details of his house with the public.
Jerry Mofokeng does not share photos of his cars on social media. He keeps them private.
Jerry Mofokeng is happily married to Claudine Mofokeng. The couple has been together since they married in June 1980, and they have five children together.
He told Drum he had been in love with a girl who ran off with a teacher. “I was shattered,” he said.
“I went to God, and He and I had a frank conversation where I set down my terms. I knew if He had taken her away from me, then surely He had something better in store for me. In my prayer, I told God women are heartbreakers and that I did not want a replacement or a substitute. I vowed to only revisit the idea of a relationship the following year.”
He met Claudine two months later. “I was taking one of my mentees home when I saw his sister. I had two problems with my attraction to her. First, I did not believe in love at first sight. There was no way I could be in love with someone I had just met!”
With his wife, Claudine, Jerry has five children. Their children include the famous Jerry Mofokeng’s son, Lerato Makhetha, Tsakane, Palesa, Mpho, and Mosa. He is a proud father of his children.
With his wife, Makhetha does marriage counseling, although they both have separate practices. The famous actor holds talks and seminars on love, courtship, and marriage in institutions and churches, among other platforms.
