K.O’S BIOGRAPHY

Born October 13, 1989, Ntokozo Mdluli popularly known by the stage name K.O is a prolific South African rapper, songwriter and businessman.His genre of music is Hip hop which he does in his native dialect and English. He started as a member of Teargas music group before he decided to become a solo act. He has over his debut released a lot of top song since his debut into the industry. K.O recently launched his fashion line called Skhanda World.

FAMILY AND BEGINNING

K.O is originally from Ntokozo Mdluli in Soweto, Johannesburg. his parents  Thembisile Mdluli and Jabulani Mdluli moved to Piet Retief in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa when he was still at infant. Music for him started at a very young age when he realized his lyrical prowess.

EDUCATION

K.O after high school got admitted to Vaal University of Technology where he studied a national diploma in public relations management. It was during this time he met his band mates Ezee “Ma-E” Hanabe and Bantu “Ntukza” Hanabe who are brothers. After he completed his studies , there was another chapter of struggle for him, as he stayed unemployed for a while, even submitted his CV to the police force, but didn’t follow it up, till he decided to proceed with his career.

MUSICAL MILESTONE

K.O started his musical journey being a member of the Teargas, hip hop group, which consisted of group members namely Ezee “Ma-E” Hanabe and Bantu “Ntukza” Hanabe (who are brother’s). The rapper along with his group released a lot of topnotch albums that made them popular all over the Country.

Later in 2013 he decided to join forces with his band mate Ma-E from Teargas music group and Thabiso Khati who is a marketing executive to form a new record label called “Cashtime Life”, with K.O becoming the first artist under the record label. K.O went on to release his first official single from his debut album “Mission Statement” which became a huge success all across South Africa. After this he was able to release a lot of other topnotch songs that became popular over time.

After a while the record label noticed a major fall and K.O was silent in the industry for a while, before he later made his great come back and is fully back in the game as of 2018 till date. He has realized a lot of topnotch songs, with his Skhanda World umbrella also signing on a new artist in 2020.
