Biography
Kudakwashe Chapepa, popularly called Kae Chaps is a popular Zimbabwean musician who hails from the Rugare suburb, in Harare. He gained recognition after a video of the Live performance for his song “Juzi” went viral.
Prior to the release of “Juzi”, Kae Chaps had dropped several other singles including “Kilimanjaro”, “Mavanga”, “Makuhwa”, and “Six Malabel” which earned him some amount of recognition in Zimbabwe. Following a near death experience when he was attacked on his way back from a performance, he recorded and released the album “Vanga” in the ending months of 2020.
On February 2021, he released the song “Juzi”. It is the story of a man who struggles to get closure following a failed relationship. His ex also leaves her jersey at his place which reminds him of her. He calls her to come and take it away as it keeps tormenting him. The song went viral following a Live performance of it.
Kae Chaps has become known for his versatility and soulful storytelling. He uses his soulful vocals to tell stories, and adds his own twist to the music. He has also topped several radio charts with his music, and earned a growing fanbase.
