Louis Jacob Tshakoane is a former Kaizer Chiefs public relations officer who made the news in 2019 with his wife for eluding arrest after being accused of their alleged involvement in an illegal multimillion-rand investment scheme called Undercover Billionaires. Louis Tshakoane and his wife Susan were reported to be on the run from the police after the Ponzi scheme was discovered. Tshakoane and his family are facing allegations of fraud, theft, money laundering, and infringement of the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act.

The Tshakoanes are believed to be owners of fancy cars. Their neighbour told SowetanLive, “Are they rich because I always see them driving fancy cars? He didn’t act like someone who was in hiding because I’d see him driving out of his house to pick up his grandchildren from school.”

Allegations against the Tshakoanes started when Andile Mayisela, a victim, accused Tshakoane Jr. of luring him into investing R300,000 in the scheme. He was reportedly promised a 25% return which did not happen. Other numerous victims of the scheme stepped up with similar stories. It was reported that they had defrauded investors of approximately R100 million.


After being on the run since 2019, Tshakoane was arrested on May 16 after giving a speech at the funeral of long-serving Mamelodi Sundowns communications officer Alex “Goldfingers” Shakoane. He has since appeared in the Palm Ridge Specialised Commercial Crimes Court alongside his wife and son for allegations of fraud.
