Maropene Ramokgopa is a South African politician and ANC Women’s League (ANCWL) national coordinator. She serves as the Special Adviser to South African president Cyril Ramaphosa on International Relations. Maropene is also a member of the ANC Women’s League. She started her political journey in the early 2000s. She has since held significant positions in the country and also in her party. In 2006, she was appointed Mayor of the Eastern Cape by former president Thabo Mbeki. She became the youngest Mayor in the Eastern Cape. On December 2022, Ramokgopa was elected second deputy secretary-general of the ANC.
