Biography
Mohammad Rizwan is a Pakistani international cricketer. Since 2015, he has represented Pakistan in international cricket and captains the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Multan Sultans. In Pakistan, Rizwan is generally regarded as one of the best wicket-keeper batters to have played for the country.
Rizwan is the only batter to score 2000 runs in a calendar year in T20s. He is a right-handed batter and wicket-keeper. He has scored centuries in all three international formats: Tests, One Day Internationals and Twenty20 Internationals. In Test Cricket, Rizwan is the vice-captain of the Pakistan cricket team, and in 2021, he was one of the Wisden Cricketers of the Year.
In the same year, he was the ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year and also led the Multan Sultans to victory in the Pakistan Super League. In T20 Internationals, Rizwan is the leading run scorer in a calendar year. He has recorded 1326 runs in 26 innings at an average of 73.66.
From 2016 to 2017, Rizwan played for Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League. He played for the Karachi Kings from 2018 to 2020. He currently captains Multan Sultans (as of 2023) and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in domestic cricket.
