Mzwandile Collen Masina is a South African politician from Gauteng. He served as the Executive Mayor of the City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality from 2016 to 2021. He is a member of the African National Congress (ANC). Mzwandile was elected in 2014, and re-elected in 2018. He served as a member of the National Assembly of South Africa from 2014 to 2016 and as the Deputy Minister of Trade.

Political Career:

Mzwandile Masina started his political career at the young age of 14. At the time, he joined the ANC Youth League. He held various leadership positions including in the ANC Youth League and the public sector. He has bagged for himself accolades for his works as a leader. The ABSA Foundation and the University of Johannesburg named him the Youth Leader of the Year in 1999. Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality named him the Most Innovative Employee of the Year in 2008. This was for coming up with the successful One Company One Job initiative.

From August 2016, to 2021, Masina served as the Executive Mayor of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality. He also serves as the ANC’s Ekurhuleni Regional Executive Committee chairperson.
