Mzwanele Jimmy Manyi is a South African politician and businessman and one of the members of the African Transformation Movement (ATM).

Although he was born in Minnesota in the United States, he has spent most of his life in South Africa and is most famous there. He had served as president of the Black Management Forum(BMF) as well as CEO of GCIS.

When the name Mzwanele Jimmy Manyi is mentioned, for most people, what instantly comes to mind is his connection with the Gupta family from whom he had bought a business at some point. But then MAnyi has no qualms about having worked with the controversial family at some point.

Political Party

Manyi has had his share of political “roaming” but at the moment is part of the African Transformation Movement (ATM), which is noticeably loyal to former President Jacob Zuma.

Just after he announced that he had joined the ATM, he was dismissed from the All Africa Decolonisation Congress (AADC), a part he had formed. The party accused him of trying to use churches that support the party ro launder money.

Furious about the move, he had threatened legal action against the party, noting: “AADC is my own creation, my own party and I will prove that by shutting it down.” He remains with the ATM at the time of writing.
