Mzwanele Manyi Biography:
Mzwanele Jimmy Manyi is a South African politician and businessman and one of the members of the African Transformation Movement (ATM).
Although he was born in Minnesota in the United States, he has spent most of his life in South Africa and is most famous there. He had served as president of the Black Management Forum(BMF) as well as CEO of GCIS.
When the name Mzwanele Jimmy Manyi is mentioned, for most people, what instantly comes to mind is his connection with the Gupta family from whom he had bought a business at some point. But then MAnyi has no qualms about having worked with the controversial family at some point.
For many, age is just a number, and you are as old as you well. While we have no clue what Manyi thinks of that statement, we can confirm he was born in 1964, which makes him 59 years at the time of writing.
Mzwanele Manyi has come a long way in his business adventures and reportedly has a net worth of $102 million – pretty heft by African standards – not just South Africa’s.
He might not be the most educated out there, but Mzwanele Manyi has managed to build an impressive investment portfolio that even better-educated compatriots can’t rival. After a stint at Mhlotshana High School, Manyi took a course in Marketing at the Institute of Marketing and Management as well as attended the Harvard/ Wits Business School.
A house is, for the most part, more than a house, especially among the wealthy. It could pass as a status symbol or else give some clues about the owner. Well, Manyi’s taste in cribs has been a subject of sporadic interrogation
The businessman probably has several houses, but what the public has focused on the most is his Meadowlands property, which also serves as the base of his companies. The “humble” property belies the fortune that it represents.
While many people are unapologetically loud about their relationships online, Jimmy Manyi isn’t too loud about his. He has been married to Stella for over three decades and claims to have a wonderful relationship with her. He once tweeted that in their decades of marriage, he has never raised his hands on her.
The couple is blessed with three children – two sons and a daughter. The sons are already married and have given birth to children, making Manyi a grandfather.
Manyi has had his share of political “roaming” but at the moment is part of the African Transformation Movement (ATM), which is noticeably loyal to former President Jacob Zuma.
Just after he announced that he had joined the ATM, he was dismissed from the All Africa Decolonisation Congress (AADC), a part he had formed. The party accused him of trying to use churches that support the party ro launder money.
Furious about the move, he had threatened legal action against the party, noting: “AADC is my own creation, my own party and I will prove that by shutting it down.” He remains with the ATM at the time of writing.
It is easier to reach out to an ordinary citizen than it is to a public figure, and the reason for this is obvious enough. Wjhikle Manyi hasn’t made his contact details available, he is active on social media, especially Twitter (@MzwaneleManyi), and might be reached on that platform by a mention.
Of course, there is no assurance he would respond when contacted.
