Naira Marley is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer. He was born in the Agege area of Lagos, Nigeria, and has several siblings.

At 11, the songster moved to Peckham in the United Kingdom, where he graduated with a distinction in business (Peckham Academy). He has since acquired British citizenship.

Growing up, Naira Marley reportedly wanted to be a voice-over artist or a master of ceremonies. But he developed a strong passion for music along the line. Encouraged by those who had listened to him sing, he decided to face the music – a decision he has no regret over.

Naira Marley was born and raised in Agege, located in Lagos, Nigeria. He and his siblings were raised as members of an extended family.

During the controversy following his arrest for fraud by the EFCC, Naira Marley revealed that he has two wives and four children. He, however, failed to give details about them – like their names and when he married them.

Interestingly, one of Naira Marley’s wives bore him two sons, and the other bore him two daughters.

Naira Marley’s daughters, Aishat and Simiat, are twins. They were born 21 April 2015.

The first son Farouq Fashola was born on 30 October 2015. He will be six years in October.  The second son, who goes by the name Fawaz Fashola and who happens to be the last child of the family, was born on 7 April 2018.

Naira Marley’s two wives keep love profiles, so little is known about them.

Shortly after the birth of his girls, his second partner took in and gave birth to his first son, Farouk Fashola. The boy is also called Jojomarlian. He was born in October 2015 and turned seven years old in October 2022. A few years later, she gave birth to the last child of the family Fawaz Fashola in April 2018. Some say that growing up in an extended family may have influenced Naira’s decision to have many kids from different women.

Naira Marley has two younger brothers. Their names are Babatunde Moshood Fashola, also known as Shoddy Funds, and Idris Fashola also called Marley Jr.

Record Label

Naira Marley is one of the record label owners in the country. In 2019, during his performance at Marlian Fest, the songster paused halfway and announced the formation of a record label called Marlian Music.

At the time, he had said the label was for them (his fans), and any of them with talent could join the label.

Following the formation of the record label, he signed Zinoleesky, MohBad, Fabian Blu, and C-Blvck. Zinoleesky is reportedly no longer at Marlian Music. The songster had a stint with Davido’s DMW. He was kicked out of DMW over allegations he assaulted a lady.
