Nomcebo is right now one of the buzzing figures in South African music. So we thought you might want to know a thing or two about the songstress who has been on the music scene for several years.

Said to have been born some 27 years ago, Nomcebo would tell anyone who cares to listen that she found music – or her singing gift, if you please – quite early. Those who doubted her where shocked when she won the talent search show mechanized by Ukhozi FM 2003.

She had been in winning form since, wooing fans with hit after hit, including the soaraway “Imizamo Yami.”

Her fame became international this year following the superlative global success of “Jerusalema,” Master KG’s work on which she featured. Many believe that song should have been nominated for a SAMA (South Africa Music Awards) this year and were outraged it didn’t

To some artistes, awards are like diadems on the head – a testament to what an artiste can accomplish with his or her talents. Well, Nomcebe has done pretty much for music and has been rewarded accordingly.
