Biography:
Robert Marawa was born on March 1, 1973, making him 47 years old. With more than two successful decades in the industry, Robert Marawa is one of Mzansi’s most prominent sports anchors and presenters. In addition, he has made a name for himself as one of the country’s most recognized media personalities.
Family:
Robert Marawa was born on March 1st, 1973 to Frank Marawa and Phumile Marawa. Robert Marawa grew up amongst his siblings, two of whom are also popular in South Africa. In addition, Robert’s sisters, Gugu Marawa and Vanessa Marawa are popular names in the country.
Gugu Marawa served as the deputy manager of the South African Senior Men’s National Football Team (Bafana Bafana). She is also known to have served for a short period as the manager for Lamontville Golden Arrows. Vanessa Marawa is known to have taken part in and won Survivor South Africa: Panama.
Education:
Robert Marawa attended Hilton College situated in Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu Natal region. Later on, in 1992, he transferred to the University of Witwatersrand, where he pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Law.
Career:
Unexpectedly, Robert joined the media as a presenter after graduating from university. He started at SABC1 in 1996. He worked with the channel for about two years and later moved on to anchor the Live soccer show, Laduma. After that, he began hosting the Live football show called Soccerzone, which airs on Mondays on the SABC1 channel.
He currently hosts Discovery Sports Centre on weekdays between 6 to 7 PM. The show airs on the SABC radio station, MetroFM.
Robert Marawa is also credited with hosting the SABC2 boxing show, Blow by Blow.
A massive highlight in his career came in 2006 when he went to Germany to host the FIFA World Cup. He also hosted the People’s Celebration Concern in the same year. The following year, he left SABC and joined Supersport.

Relationship:
Many years back, Robert Marawa had a romantic relationship with actor and singer Zoey Mthiyane. Zoey is credited to have played roles in Generations: The Legacy, The Lion King and other Disney theatrical productions.
Fans were shocked to find out that the relationship didn’t end very well. No one knows if the couple ever married. However, they have a son together named Awande together. He was born on July 18, 2011 in KwaZulu-Natal.
