Tshego is a curious case in South African music. Whereas some other artistes would have remained in the United States, where supposedly more opportunities abound for the aspiring musician, Tshego opted for South Africa.
Born on 21 May 1990 in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, to Christian ministers, Tshego was fortunate to have liberal parents who let him pursue his dreams in secular music.
At age 5, he had already given his first performance as an artiste. He has not looked back.
Tshego was formerly signed to Family Tree, Cassper Nyovest’s record label, along with Nadia Nakai. Whereas Nadia Nakai had remained with the record label, Tshego has left, because he believes better opportunities for growth await him out there.
Following his exit, he made it clear he had to leave because he had no control over a lot of things. He wanted to control his own PR and marketing and determine his expenses on those.
Also, he wanted to be in control of the trajectory of his releases and his music career generally. Signed to Family Tree, he had no control, so he took a walk. Looking back, his journey has been beautiful all the same. He readily tells anyone who cares to listen that he is still friends with Family Tree.
Tshego has a fine voice and has been titillating the music industry with his singing. As a singer on his own tracks, and even as a guest on the songs of other artistes, he stands out.
His genre apparently oscillates between hip hop and rap. Either way, he has a commanding music personality and a voice that gets you vibing with him in no time. The songster has got several sterling songs to his name.
Below are some of his songs that might interest you. You might wish to add to the list after you are done checking them out.

Albums are in themselves milestones in an artiste’s career. For those not conversant with an artiste, albums might provide sweeping views of the artiste’s creative universe.
To Tshego’s name is an album entitled “Pink Panther.” The title was probably inspired by the movie “Black Panther,” but then the thematic thrusts of both are markedly different.
The album was released following Tshego’s exit from Family Tree, and his signing to Universal Music Pty. The 15-track RnB/ Soul compilation features artistes like Riky Rick, Frank Casino, Focalistic, Tellaman, Kwesta, Black Cass and King Monada.
You can stream the album below on Apple Music.
Tshego is undeniably an important voice in the world of South African music. Although a search of the awards he has won to date yielded nothing, there’s no hiding his musical appeal and the impact he has made in the industry.
He was one of the guest artistes on platinum-selling artiste Kwesta’s hit single “Khethile Khethile,” which was nominated for song of the year in 2019. The other artiste is Thee Legacy.
Information on Tshego’s education is pretty scanty. But then you cannot but notice he is a great conversationalist and articulate, too. This should be obvious even on first encounter with him.
He may be counted among artistes who can hold their own, education or no.
Tshego is a lover of the good life and has no apologies admitting this much. He recently picked a gleaming black R3 million Lamborghini Urus following his signing to Def Jam Africa alongside Nadia Nakai and Cassper Nyovest, former Family Tree associates, and the Zulu Man With Some Power, Nasty C.
Although we are unable to give a definite sum, we readily state that Tshego is one of Mzansi’s millionaires.
Age & Relationships
Tshego is the 1990’s bod. At 30 years old, he’s done remarkably well as an artiste. Tshego is still in the single’s club — never married.
However, he has reportedly been involved with several women. Contrary to speculations, though, it appears there is nothing between him and Nadia Nakai, who sent an emotional birthday shoutout to him on his birthday in May.
Tshego has been in a long-term relationship with Lola Kyle, with whom he has a daughter.
