In the dying minutes of February 2020, the Zimbabwean afrosoul songstress Berita (who many mistake for a South African) treated fans to a compilation titled “Songs In The Key of Love” album.
This t13-track compilation had “Makhumalo,” a collaborative work with Bekezela, as track 7 (seven). It happens to be one of the tracks in which fans are well pleased. Not surprisingly, it is also one of the first tracks in that body of work to get a music video.
“Makhumalo” music video popped on Berita’s YouTube channel on 11 November 2020 and has been viewed over two thousand times.
The titled track brings together two Zimbabweans who, incidentally, share profound musical synergy. So listening to them drop their bars is a pleasure – something to be sustained.
“Makhumalo” is one song that will thrill just about every believer in the letters of love, as manifested in marriage and companionship. Also, if you happen to be in a beautiful relationship, this song might turn out massage oil on your soul.
