Burna Boy Premieres “Love, Damini” Album Featuring J. Balvin, Ed Sheeran, Others – Listen

Nigerian singer Burna Boy is the star of the moment, thanks in part to the charms of his latest album, “Love, Damini.” Sound like what one might write in closing a letter.

And in a sense, it is. The Nigerian opens the world of his life to his fans through the album, the immediate follow-up to “Twice As Tall,” his Grammy-winning album.

“Love, Damini” is a lengthy compilation of 19 tracks featuring some fine artists from around the world. Among the numbers on the tracklist are “Glory,” “Science,” “Jagele,” “Kilometre,” “Cloak & Dagger,” “Whiskey,” “Last Last,” “Different Size,” “It’s Plenty,” “Dirty Secrets,” “T.A.S,” “Solid,” and “For My Hand.”

The Nigerian was unapologetically ambitious in his choice of guests, picking collaborators from Europe and Africa. Among those who made that cut are Ed Sheeran, J. Balvin, Pers, J.Hus, Victony, Popcaan, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Blxst and Kehlani.

“Love Damini” is a compilation that will appeal to many beyond the borders of afro-fusion. There’s so much to lap up from this compilation, from aspects of the singer’s life to his take on issues – an eclectic mix.

And while we don’t see this album snapping another Grammy, we can tell you for free that it is worth a place on a playlist.
