Cassper Nyovest – Good For That

Artist: Cassper Nyovest
Producer: Tyler ICU
Cameo: DJ Maphorisa, Capo
Video Director: Jabu Nkosi

Earlier this week, Cassper revealed that he will be dropping an album this year and unlike before a song is going to be released as single before the album is released, the rapper took to  twitter and wrote:

I was gonna wait for the album to get done and what not before we drop a single but you know what? IT’S 2020 AND SHIT DON’T WORK LIKE THAT!!!! Sooo.

The rapper has actualized on his commitment. After spending years away from the Hip-hop scene, Cassper Nyovest is back with a new potential hit tune titled “Good For That”. His new release is the first song he is dropping in 2020 and first Hip-hop tune in new year.

Though Cassper Nyovest has stayed away from the Hip-hop genre for a very long time, a genre that brought him to limelight, he has been consistent and active in other aspect of the entertainment industry, he has worked with other artists on Gqom with songs like “Gets Getsa 2.0” and “Family” featuring Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha.

In a recent Twitter response, Cassper Nyovest made a revelation that he is of an impression that the South African Hip-hop scene turned their back on him, which explains why he has not released any Hip-hop tune in a long time. A twitter user had made a post which read:

Yeah because the “HipHop Game” turned their backs on @casspernyovest so many times, homie was living with his back against the wall. So here with piano, there’s no kwaals & no gatekeepers, which opens room for creativity and banging music.

Cassper Nyovest in his response agreed to the twitter user and responded with a reply:

This too is hard facts.

Earlier this year, Cassper Nyovest also worked with Kabza De Small, Dj Maphorisa and Qwesta Kufet on Phoyisa, the song is arguably the biggest song released in South Africa in 2020 so far.

“Good For That” was quietly released on Cassper Nyovets’s Instagram profile page without much press or promotions so far.

The song comes with a video which sees the rapper sitting on the hood of one of his luxurious car while a driver drive him around town, he later parked his car next to some other luxurious cars and danced alongside some dancers while they sing about what they are good at. With Cameo from DJ Maphorisa and Capo, the video is one bubbly and fun piece of art to watch. Checkout the Tyler ICU produced song below:
