South African disc jockey and producer De Mthuda croon “Khanda Liyazula” alongside compatriots Mthunzi and Sino Msolo.
It isn’t the first time he has worked with both artistes. But as should be clear from the song, it’s easily one of their memorable collaborations. And we’re all for it.
“Khanda Liyazula” is part of De Mthuda’s “The Landlord” album, a body of work featuring some great voices in South African music.
Of course, De Mthuda makes part of that great list. A notable producer and DJ, he’s one of the voices pushing the amapiano message in South Africa. And although he’s rarely referenced as a piano king, he’s deserving of that epaulet.
With a prodigious talent and several splendid numbers to his name, the songster merely affirms his position as one of the leading piano musicians in the Rainbow Nation with his “Khanda Liyazula” track.
It’s hard to say why he worked with Sino Msolo and Mthunzi, but there’s no denying the potency of this collaboration. Both artistes were great complements to De Mthuda.
The result? You find that you just wanna shut your eyes, forget the troubling realities around you, and simply rock the number. Not bad. Let the musical ecstasy begin if you please. Your spirit should thank you for that.
