Mzansi musos Entity Musiq and Lil’Mo give a shout-out to their friend De Mthuda in a song titled, well, “De Mthuda,” which you can stream here on UbeToo.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first song by the two artistes. Also, the pair has worked with De Mthuda, who they have just honoured with a song, previously.
Honouring fellow artistes in songs is nothing new – not in South Africa, and certainly not in any part of the world. In South Africa, for instance musicians honour each other regularly in songs. Who, for instance, can forget De’Keay’s shout-out to the amapiano producer and disc jockey Vigro Deep in a song titled “Hi Vigro”?
Anyway, “De Mthuda” stands out as a fine addition to the body of work acknowledging the merits of fellow artistes. It is a song De Mthuda and his fans should be chuffed with.
