Kehlani – Valentine’s Day (Shameful)

Kehlani just released a new song titled “Valentine’s Day (Shameful).” She dropped the song via her Soundcloud account on Sunday, the 16th of February 2020, Shameful sees the R&B star saying bye to the dreamy romantic holiday while she hints that the song is recorded for an unspecified other half with the use of a phrase “I’d say your name but you don’t deserve recognition”.

Kehlani’s rage on the new song is clear with the use of phrases like (“You played the hero but really you are the villain. There ain’t a bone in me that wants to spare your feelings”). Despite that fact that the song is meant to say goodbye in a way, she singer lets her angelic voice take over while she sings the confessional over an highly guitar-inflenced instrumental. Check it out below.

There are signs that this song is directed towards his ex-lover YG. On Valentine’s Day appeared on a song titled “Konclusions,” which is a collaboration with YG. “Konclusions” was released weeks after the couple reportedly went their separate ways, raising a few eyebrows in the process. It appeared somewhat noticeably that neither YG or Kehlani were interested in promoting the newly released song.

And now we see Kehlani releasing some more reasonable remains from the unsuccessful relationship on her “Valentine’s Day (Shameful)” track. Checkout the track below
