Tanzanian musician Marioo takes the path of some of his musical compatriots, dropping a song titled “Kazi Iendelee,” which you can stream here on UbeToo. He Joins a list of artistes who’ve released a song of the same title.
The titled songs — also Marioo’s — is politically themed. With President John Pombe Magufuli dying suddenly, Tanzania has gotten its first female president.
In “Kazi lendelee,” Marioo references this change while urging his compatriots to support the new leader to continue the legacy of good works the late president left behind. Like songs of similar message, Tanzanians have been welcoming of Marioo’s number.
Although the song is about a Tanzanian leader, it actually would also appeal to the politically conscious, whatever their country of provenance. So if politics is your thing, and you’re seriously interested in the world’s political universe too, you should have this song on your playlist. No qualms. By the way, Marioo is one of the popular voices in Tanzanian music, with several hits to his name.
