Nigerian musician Patoranking is out with a new body of work titled “Three” album. The title is symbolic in that “three” is the third studio album by the songster who burst into the music scene years ago with a song titled “Alubarika.”
“Three” the album is a compilation of 12 splendid tunes, beginning with “Mon Bebe” and ending with “Love Is The Answer.” The project features some fine voices in African music, including Kenya’s Sauti Sol, Ghana’s King Promise, and Nigeria’s Tiwa Savage and Flavour.

In early August, Patoranking had apprised fans of the coming of “Three” the album. The cover art had the image – or shadow, if you please – of three persons in what appears to be a vintage sedan, heading somewhere illuminated by the sun. The image is that of Patoranking himself.
The symbolism is almost magical, and definitely hard to miss if you are conversant with the songster’s rise from the ghetto to the pinnacle of Nigeria’s singing aristocracy. The album is as didactic as it is entertaining, and we recommend checking it out.
