South African boy band PHB Finest croons “Ase Mathomo” alongside compatriot King Monada, who’d worked with the group previously. So the song is a reunion of sorts.
PHB Finest might not be the finest band out there, but the group’s creative energy is at once empowering and exciting. That energy is apparent in the song for which they tapped the vocal resources of King Monada.
The bolobedu house music ace last worked with the group on “Karate” back in June. The song was meant to reflect his botched boxing match with Big Zulu. The match had been initiated in the spirit of the then-trending #CelebrityBoxing hashtag.
From the sound of things, though, King Monada and PHB Finest are still in top form as collaborators. And while we wouldn’t count this their finest collaboration, it is yet a song worth hearing and retaining on a playlist.
