Rethabile Khumalo unleashes an interesting number titled “Inkemba” off her recently release d 4-track EP. Inkemba is the only track in which Rethabile did not ride solo as she tries the magic again with Mvzzle. They have both previously worked together on DJ Zinhle’s Umlilo 2.0 which was a smash hit in 2019.
Since Rethabile Khumalo was given her break, she has been a force that the industry cannot stop, she has since linked up with Master KG on Ntyilo Ntyilo which currently sits at 6,254,697M on YouTube and keeps dominating the chart since release.
The titled song is part of the celebrated singer’s “Inkemba” EP ― a 4-track compilation that has only Mvzzle as the guest. But that’s not a complaint, as Rethabile Khumalo held court beautifully, spitting vocals like there’s nothing else worth doing.
The release of the project was in keeping with the promise she had made earlier. Of the four songs in that body of work, “Ikusasa Lam” is an easy favourite. From the very first verse, the listener encounters a singer at home with her singing gift and eager to create memorable experiences with the same.
To listen to “Ikusasa Lam” is to want to listen to it again. This lyrical winner ought to be on your playlist, so go and savor it for all it’s worth. Your spirit will thank you for that. Yeah, no qualms.
