Simphiwe Dana – Usikhonzile

Simphiwe Dana releases a brand new song titled “Usikhonzile”.

Popular Afro Soul artiste, Simphiwe Dana is back with a brand new song which she calls “Usikhonzile”. The singer previously announced she would drop a brand new song (Usikhonzile) which is reportedly off her upcoming album, Bamako, scheduled for release sometime in March.

Speaking to Music In Africa about the song, she said;

Usikhonzile means ‘you worship us’ but more than that it means ‘you take care of us’,” Dana told Music In Africa. It’s basically meant to give him his ‘flowers’ while he is still alive. It’s about praising him for the work he has done for many people

According to her, the song pays homage to a certain acquaintance who is apparently a friend of many people in Mzansi. The album, “Bamako” is inspired by her travel to Mali, and named after a place there. Apparently she learnt so much from it which inspired her new music.
