“Imigomo Nemibandela” is one of the songs in the songster’s “Umsebenzi” EP, a four-tract compilation and Sjava’s debut project on his own 1020 Cartel record label. (He had founded that record label months back in partnership with his friend Ruff) That body of work features no guests. But then one cannot begrudge Sjava the decision to feature no one. It’s a lean compilation, after all. At any rate, alone, Sjava did remarkably well, spitting his bars like the trap champ that he is. It’s a delightful compilation, really.
“Imigomo Nemibandela” is one of the delights in that body of work – a song if potent lyrical force that just about anyone can relate with, whwtever their genres of devotion.
