- In late August 2020 Umgido treated fans to a new song titled “Vaya Vaya” in collaboration with Zintle Kwaaiman. You can now stream it here on UbeToo.
“Vaya Vaya” is an electronic tune and pretty lovely, too. It’s Umgido’s debut on this platform but a song we are enamoured of anyway. The song effortlessly brings you to your childhood Eden, the days of innocence when you played in the streets without fear whatsoever. That Eden is gone, of course. Now kidnappings and rape are rampant, and fear stalks the streets.
That Eden is gone, it bears repeating. But Umgido introduces the listener into a new “Eden” – which might not have the charms of childhood but has become the salvation of many anyway: nightlife and its many freedoms.
Like Umbido, Zintle Kwaaiman has only just popped on her. But then it might be said that the artistes on this number did a fine job of delivering their bars, and it’s hard not to love the final output. With this song, rest assured your weekend will be lit.
