“Jerusalema” has become the zeitgeist in Mzansi, and justly so. The song is now a global trend and even the president of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, has encouraged his people to do a #JerusalemaChallenge. Enter Ndlovu Youth Choir with a cover of the song and a dance.
This sin;r the first cover by the celebrated group, of course. Also, Ndlovu Youth Choir is but one of several groups – and artistes – that have taken up the challenge, in response to the president’s call a dance challenge on Heritage Day.
Ndlovu Youth Choir has excited us with several fine numbers previously, including on the America’s Got Talent circuit, where they emerged as finalists. In their cover of the “Jerusalema” song, they didn’t disappoint. You might say the same of their dance video.
The dance video is especially invigorating. Here, if you please, is one video you can watch all day, without the briefest encounter with boredom. It comes recommended, of course.
