The title of the song along is enough to get one’s antennae up. Is this some attempt to milk some publicity from Big Zulu’s trending song of the same title? Well, certainly not.
Actually, Abangani Bethu’s “Imali Eningi” song with Formation Boyz was released months before Big Zulu decided to release his song of the same title. Abangani Bethu’s song might not have been very successful at the time of release but the song is certainly gaining some attention from the success of Big Zulu’s song, which has been nominated for the Song of the Year in South Africa.
Anyway, “Imali Eningi” by Abangani Bethu and Formation Boyz makes for an interesting listening session. It is a song of potent musicality, in a world patently different from big Zulu’s – a world all its own. You really gotta check out the song.
