Afrotraction returns to UbeToo with a scorcher of a tune titled “Khethile Khethile,” featuring fellow South African Amanda Black. It’s a meeting of fine voices, and the result is, of course, splendid.
The title of the song brings a lot to mind, and they have nothing to do with the lead singer, actually – not in the first place, anyway. They should be easy enough to glean if you’re a keen follower of South African music.
And if you’re not, still no problem. You can at least roll with us. So let’s hop.
The title was previously used by celebrated rapper Kwesta around the time he got married to his wife, Yolanda. It’s something for memory, if you please – a song to vibe to and remind yourself about the beauty of relationships – if you’re having a good run in that direction.
Anyway, the “Khethile Khethile” from Afrotraction is just as engaging – a number that’s delightful on many levels. The decision to feature Amanda Black is worth applauding because the two singers actually hit it off on this song. Amanda Black is not only a fine singer but intensely lovable as well. She brings her disarming energy to this song.
